4th Annual Appearance Awards
Appearance Commission Seeks Nominations for Appearance Awards

The City-County Joint Appearance Commission is now seeking nominations of properties in Cumberland County which enhance the appearance of the community. Properties located anywhere in Cumberland County can be nominated.

Properties can be nominated through June 15. The Joint Appearance Commission will recognize properties at an awards ceremony this summer. To nominate a property, log onto www.cityoffayetteville.org/appearanceaward/.

Fayetteville Wins All-America City Award
All American City Award

After a spirited, patriotic presentation Thursday that featured marching, singing soldiers from the 82nd Airborne All-American Chorus, the City of Fayetteville was selected Friday night in Kansas City as an All-America City Award winner for the third time in its history. A delegation of approximately 60 people, including local officials and children, described to a panel how Fayetteville has shed its former "Fayettenam" image and became a cleaner, thriving community with a strong economy.

Fayetteville Earns Recognition in NC3C Excellence in Communications Awards 

NC3C Awards The City of Fayetteville was among 19 North Carolina governments to earn recognition in the fourth North Carolina City & County Communicators' (NC3C) Excellence in Communications Awards presented Thursday, March 29 at the Carolina Inn as part of the NC3C's annual Spring Conference. The City of Fayetteville received four awards: Annual Report: First place (2011 Annual Report to the Community); Marketing Campaign: First place (All-America City strategic marketing plan); Print Publication — Magazine: First place (Parks and Recreation Activities Guide); and Citizen Participation: Second place (Citizens Academy).
